Week 2 NFL Power Rankings

Brandon Carwile / USA Today

1. Buffalo Bills (1-0) --

Despite having four turnovers, they rolled over the Rams defense and had a dominant 2nd half.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) --

Offense looked fine without Tyreek Hill. Dominating performance in week 1 from the whole team.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) --

Run game and defense were great. Pass game needs time to gel, but I love the aggressive downfield attempts from Brady.

4. Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) (↑4)

Justin Herbert and the pass game looked very good. Defense forced turnovers. Huge divisional matchup Thursday against the Chiefs.

5. Baltimore Ravens (1-0) (↑4)

Lamar Jackson and the passing attack looked very good and the defense also played well. The run game should get back to normal soon.

6. Minnesota Vikings (1-0) (↑7)

Justin Jefferson and the offense had an outstanding day. The pass rush was aggressive, and the defense looked good, although the Packers lacked a passing attack. Big game on the road Monday night against the next team.

7. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) (↑3)

Rushing attack was great. A.J. Brown helps the passing attack immensely, but Devonta Smith needs to get involved. Defense was not good in the 2nd half and needs to tighten up.

8. Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) (↓2)

Poor first half from Joe Burrow and the offensive line, who gave up 7 sacks on the day, but they were able to fight back and make it a game.

9. New Orleans Saints (1-0) (↑2)

Terrible first half from the offense, but they turned it around in the 2nd half. Shouldn’t have allowed the Falcons to gain as big of a lead as they did, but the defense will round into form quickly, maybe as early as next week against a familiar foe.

10. Green Bay Packers (0-1) (↓6)

Passing attack needs work, and it needs it right now. I trust Aaron Rodgers, but I don’t trust the receivers, and clearly, he does not either. Defense wasn’t good in the first half but looked better in the second.

11. Los Angeles Rams (0-1) (↓6)

Overall sloppy first game on both sides of the ball, but they have the talent to turn it around. Offensive line was not good and needs to be figured out.

12. San Francisco 49ers (0-1) (↓5)

Sloppy weather in the opener made for a tough estimation of what Trey Lance in the offense really are. Still like the run game and the defense, but the defense did not step up in the 2nd half. Although, scoring 10 points on offense won’t win many games.

13. Miami Dolphins (1-0) (↑1)

Run game was not great, but Hill and Waddle are a huge threat to defenses, but the offense is still forced to be filled with short to intermediate routes because of Tua.

14. Tennessee Titans (0-1) (↓2)

Fought hard to stay in the game and came close to a win, but close doesn’t cut it in the NFL. Seemed to play stiff on offense and could not get the run game going or Robert Woods involved.

15. Washington Commanders (1-0) (↑7)

Carson Wentz is a roller coaster, but when he is on, he can make great plays, and did so enough times in this game to pull out the win.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) (↑1)

Fought hard to get a big division win on the road but allowed the Bengals to get back in the game. Tomlin always has his guys ready and finds ways to win though, and that’s all that matters.

17. Cleveland Browns (1-0) (↑8)

Run game was great but passing attack needs to improve to expand the offense. Allowed the Panthers to come back in the end but the defense looked good for the most part.

18. Las Vegas Raiders (0-1) --

Offense and defense showed signs of good play but need to be more consistent.

19. New York Giants (1-0) (↑10)

Matched the Titans physicality and fought hard to get a win. Saquon Barkley looked great and if he can continue to play this great, the team can depend on him to move the offense.

20. Indianapolis Colts (0-0-1) (↑1)

Started poor but eventually came back and tied the game, but they should have played much better against a team like the Texans. Did not look like much improved compared to last season in the opener.

21. New England Patriots (0-1) (↓5)

Offense did not look good and lacks explosiveness. Defense was not terrible and will need to play well if this team wants to win games.

22. Seattle Seahawks (1-0) (↑6)

A hard-fought win where Geno Smith played efficient and the defense stepped up with big stops and forced turnovers.

23. Denver Broncos (0-1) (↓4)

You traded for Russell Wilson and extended him to kick a 64-yard field goal to try and win. Go for it on fourth and get closer to the goal post.

24. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) --

Made occasional great plays on both sides of the ball but need to be more consistent and capitalize on opponents’ mistakes if they want to win games.

25. Detroit Lions (0-1) (↑2)

Fought hard to get back in the game but it was too late. The run defense needs to improve, but the offense showed the ability to move the ball on a defense that is supposed to be good.

26. Chicago Bears (1-0) (↑4)

Big week 1 win in a sloppy, rainy game. Although, the team lacks talent and I do not think consistent success will be sustainable.

27. Arizona Cardinals (0-1) (↓7)

Offense and defense were not good and missed assignments all day. Kliff Kingsbury also said the team needs, “better practice habits.” Isn’t that your job? Messy offseason, messy start to the season.

28. Dallas Cowboys (0-1) (↓13)

Only team in the league to not score a touchdown in week 1 and now no Dak for multiple weeks. They need to make a move at QB if they want to compete this season.

29. Carolina Panthers (0-1) (↓6)

Looked horrible for three quarters and the defense got ran all over. D.J. Moore needs to be more involved. I don’t buy the Baker hype.

30. Atlanta Falcons (↑2)

Played well early and were competitive down the stretch, but their lack of all-around talent will likely lead them to lose many games.

31. Houston Texans (0-0-1) --

Pretty much the same description as the Falcons.

32. New York Jets (0-1) (↓6)

Run defense was good, but Joe Flacco throwing the ball 59 times won’t win games.
