Dolphins All In
The Dolphins made multiple moves, as they acquired OLB Bradley Chubb and RB Jeff Wilson Jr., and traded away RB Chase Edmonds. Bradley Chubb is a very good edge rusher who will help the defense very much. The Dolphins like to use creative pass rushes and adding Chubb to that will be a threat to opposing offenses.
When the Dolphins signed Chase Edmonds this offseason, I was not thrilled with the signing because he didn’t seem to fit the scheme well. Jeff Wilson Jr. reunites with Mike McDaniel, knows the scheme well, and is a solid downhill runner to mix in to the offense. The Dolphins are 5-3 and going all in on a playoff run.
Roquan Smith to Ravens
Roquan Smith is a very good player and will certainly help the Ravens defense in pass coverage and run stopping, but he will not be able to solve all of their issues. They could have also used an interior defensive lineman and a receiver on the offensive side of the ball.
Chase Claypool to Bears
The Steelers extended Diontae Johnson prior to the season and drafted George Pickens, who is a promising young talent and has played well, so the writing was on the wall that Claypool did not have a future with the team. Claypool is eligible for an extension after this season, and that was not going to happen in Pittsburgh. Claypool has the skillset of a WR1, but has not been able to put it all together consistently. He should certainly help the Bears passing attack and will have the opportunity to prove his WR1 potential and earn an extension.
T.J. Hockenson to Vikings
The Vikings are 6-1 and are on their way to a playoff appearance, and tight end Irv Smith Jr. just suffered an injury that will sideline him for an extended period of time. The Vikings took initiative and stole a very good player from their division rival, who will help their offensive attack a great deal.
Bills swap out Zack Moss for Nyheim Hines
Nyheim Hines has proven he is a pretty good receiving back and will certainly be utilized in the Bills heavy passing attack. The Bills are going all in on their Super Bowl run and feel this move will help bolster their offense.
Packers do nothing
I had a feeling this would happen, as the Packers are known to not make any big splashes, and the fact that their run game was working well last week, so they looked at that and decided that is how they will play the rest of the season. Odell Beckham Jr. is still a free agent and they should seriously consider signing him to help out their passing attack, which is not good. Besides that, maybe they sign a free agent, such as Will Fuller IV, or hope Brandin Cooks forces his way out of Houston and becomes a free agent. If they do not make a move, I am confused about their plan to not improve their offense.
Where will OBJ land?
Odell Beckham Jr. will be healthy soon and has been waiting to see what teams do at the deadline and how they stand in terms of a playoff push. There are tons of teams who could use help at the wide receiver position. Teams that could use him and to watch out to sign him are the Bills, Chargers, Ravens, Titans, Cowboys, Rams, Packers, 49ers, Bucs, Vikings, Saints, and Giants.
