49ers -1.5
This is my favorite pick of the week. Jimmy Garoppolo is back as the starter, so we now know more of what to expect from the 49ers and the players should be more confident, as they know what to expect from Jimmy based on prior experience of playing with him. The 49ers will run the ball hard and play fast and physical on both sides of the ball. The way the Broncos have looked so far, I do not think they can matchup with the 49ers. Nathaniel Hackett has already had multiple coaching blunders and Kyle Shanahan will take advantage of his inexperience.
Chiefs -5.5
The Chiefs have looked like a top 3 team in the league and the Colts have looked like a bottom 3 team in the league through 2 weeks. The Colts have been an all-around mess so far and Matt Ryan has not played well. The Chiefs travel to Indianapolis and get to run their high-powered, efficient offense, in a dome. I like the Chiefs to cover here and continue their revenge tour.
Saints -3
The Saints offense has not been able to find a consistent rhythm throughout the first two weeks, but they get a chance to do it this week against a divisional opponent who they are better than. The Panthers defense has not looked terrible, but they have not played an offense with as many weapons as the Saints yet. Also, the Panthers offense has not been good, and they go up against the Saints defense, who has played well, for the most part, through two weeks of football. I am taking the Saints -3 because I think they will make Baker Mayfield struggle to pass the ball and be able to get a boost on offense.
Eagles-Commanders over 47.5
The Eagles have looked very good on offense and the commanders have been inconsistent on defense, and I believe the Eagles will be able to put up points on them. As for the Eagles defense, they were not great in week 1, but they improved mightily in week 2. The Commanders offense has looked good besides the first half of their week 2 game, and their passing attack has been very good. I expect the Eagles to get up early and force Washington to throw the ball a ton, which could lead to some mistakes, but will also lead to points. The Eagles will probably win the game, but I am staying away from spread for this game and going with both teams to provide points for us.
There are a few other interesting spread and over/under bets, but I would not recommend anything to other people that I would not put my own money on. I will be placing some props as well, but many games do not have them listed just yet, but you will be able to find them on my twitter page on Sunday, before the 1:00 games begin. Also, I am thinking about Jaguars +7 but still need some time to think about it, and if I decide to go with that bet, it will also be addressed on my twitter, @JohnWilsonSport.
